Nick Kyrgios once again took to social media to rebuke Dominic Thiem, who this week defended the Adria Tour players and said that the Australian himself had ‘made a lot of mistakes’.

The Adria Tour, organized by the Novak Djokovic Foundation, was called off mid-way after four of the players, including the World No 1, tested positive for Coronavirus.

Kyrgios has been vocal against the staging of the event, which was played in front of thousands of fans and did not follow any social distancing protocols.

Thiem, who did not contract the virus, questioned why ‘everyone’ was piling into fellow player Alexander Zverev. Even though Zverev tested negative for the virus, he put out a statement he would self-isolate but just a few days later was shot partying in France.

“Kyrgios has made a lot of mistakes himself,” Thiem said in an interview with TT. “I understand even less when he interferes with everything. It would be better if he came to terms with himself rather than always criticizing others.”

The Australian hit back, saying, “What are you talking about @ThiemDomi? Mistakes like smashing rackets? Swearing? Tanking a few matches here or there? Which everyone does?”

“None of you have the intellectual level to even understand where I’m coming from. I’m trying to hold them accountable,” he tweeted.

The Australian believes the Adria Tour players, who also visited a night club during the first stop in Belgrade, did not understand how serious the situation is.

‘This just shows what a joke @ThiemDomi @AlexZverev & @DjokerNole think this is, 2 of them partying like potato’s during a global pandemic. People losing lives, loved ones and friends, and then Thiem standing up for the ‘mistake’… these guys are the ‘top’ of our sport. SMH.”

The Australian was also involved in a war of words with six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker, because the latter called him a ‘rat’ for criticizing fellow players publicly.
