Controversial Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic gave a bizarre post-match interview, after winning the first round of Wimbledon qualifiers, in which he called the ball kids ‘irritating.’
“Everything feels irritating at that moment. The wind, don’t mind me speaking this, but the ball kids, everything,” Tomic said after beating Slovenia’s Blaz Kavcik 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Tomic had to save four break points at in the third set when he was serving for the match at 5-3.
When asked if he felt like the last game was never going to end, the 28-year-old replied, “Yeah, it was tough. I was nervous.

“I couldn’t really turn on my backhand side. And then I kind of ah, s*** myself.”
On the plus side, Tomic has now one match more than the 2021 French Open, when he lost in the first round of qualifiers.

A former junior Grand Slam champion, Tomic has made news more for his controversial comments. The Australian had peaked at a career high of 17 in 2016 but has dropped out of the top 200.
Currently ranked 224, Tomic will take World No. 122 Bernabe Zapata Miralles in the second round of qualifying.

His best performance at a Grand Slam has also come at Wimbledon. Tomic reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2011 before losing to Novak Djokovic.
