Alejandro Davidovich Fokina run ended after he was handed a point penalty for ball abuse on a dramatic day at Wimbledon, which saw Garbine Muguruza, Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu exit.
Fokina was given a point penalty by chair umpire Carlos Ramos for ball abuse and because it came on match point, it ended the second-round contest against Jiri Vesely on Wednesday.

The final score was 6-3, 5-7, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 7-6 (10-7) in Vesely’s favour after nearly four hours of play on Court No 17.

The Spaniard had been cited for a different code violation earlier.
Disappointing day for Brits
There were back-to-back blows for home fans as Raducanu and Murray flopped on Centre Court.

Raducanu, 19, lost 3-6, 3-6 to Caroline Garcia before Murray went down 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (3), 6-4 to big-serving John Isner on Wednesday.
The British international further said her US Open title win hadn’t added any pressure on her.
“There’s no pressure. Like, why is there any pressure? I’m still 19. Like, it’s a joke. I literally won a slam,” Raducanu said.

But the 52nd-ranked Scot said he had no plans to hang up his racquet and despite a second-round defeat – his earliest-ever loss at the All England Club.

“My game was certainly in a better place,” said the two-time champion.
“Physically I felt good, barring the sort of 10 days post-Stuttgart (earlier this month), which was frustrating.

“I could have had a good run here. One of the reasons why improving your ranking and trying to get seeded is important, avoid playing top players and dangerous guys like that early in tournaments.”
Garbine Muguruza in tears
Belgium’s Greet Minnen registered her first career win over a top-10 opponent to beat former Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza of Spain 6-4, 6-0 in a rain-hit first-round match.
Garbine Muguruza was in tears towards the end of the 19-minute second set v Greet Minnen.
She won just seven points today. Absolutely dreadful to watch. The former champion loses 4-6, 0-6.

The second set ended with a score of 6-0 in favor of Minnen. At the 0-5 mark, it was Muguruza’s turn to serve and she completely broke down.

She was in tears as she was unable to play her shots accurately. Minnen went on to break even that game and win the match.
Muguruza committed 33 unforced errors and won just seven points in the second set.
