In a two-hour-41-minute masterclass, Rafael Nadal dismissed Novak Djokovic 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 to win his 13th French Open crown and a record-equalling 20th major.
We take a look at the stats that tell the story of the match:
14: Unforced errors by Nadal. The Spaniard is always solid as a rock while playing in clay, but he ironed out the mistakes even more in Sunday’s final.
52: Unforced errors by Djokovic. The World No 1 was shaky, and his forehand wing broke down spectacularly against an aggressive Nadal. It was nearly half of the total points Nadal won in the match (106)
33%: Receiving points won by Djokovic. It’s a humbling stat, for a player known as one of the best, if not the best, returner of serve.
7/18: Break points converted by Nadal. The rampaging Rafa was in no mood for mercy on the day, taking advantage of Djokovic’s less-than-convincing serve. The World No 1 Djokovic won only 50% of the points on his first serve and was 48% on the second. Djokovic converted only one of five.

53: Points won by Nadal when the rally lasted 0-4 strokes. Before the match, the 34-year-old had said that he would have to be more aggressive against Djokovic and delivered on that promise. Djokovic won only 25 points in the shorter exchanges.
13/28: Points won by Djokovic when he attempted a drop shot
4: Number of times that Nadal has won a major without dropping a set (2008, 2010, 2017 and 2020 French Open). He surpassed Bjorn Borg’s Open Era record of most number of Slam wins without dropping a set
0: Number of aces by either player down the T. There were five aces in total, four of them by Nadal, including the winning shot
